Collecting ideas and artist researches 1

To get my ideas started i began to post questions on the game forum. (Only account holders can view forum pages) I asked players what they would like to see in this game in the future, as the game developers themselves comment frequently on the forum too. It would also benefit them as to what the players want.
The idea of player designed outfits was popular and also more player versus player options, as playing normal missions can get boring very fast. The idea of player versus players and also versus computer controlled monsters is popular. This combat format exists in other games, therefore players would like to see this brought into this game as well.

Also for me, costume wise, i got some ideas on what the gamers want as well.
I also personally emailed the lead designer regarding my project he have replied me in the forum :"If you specifically ask for feedback, players and sometimes devs will give you feedback on your ideas. Also if your concept becomes popular, it might grab our attention! If we end up having some time from our 3D artists, we might try to do more 'player-created' clothing in the future." - Tilty (forum username)

I can send you some specific feedback about your current entries from our 3D artists if you want? Keep in mind this feedback will be specific to our tech though, and might not always be applicable for other games"

This can help me in learning more about the actual game industry and how to work with a specific game requirement, which i think it especially helpful.

As the game is set in the modern world, it combines what are available to us in the real world, with the concept of fantasy and magic -which are elements and abilities that have no prove of existence, as well as science-fiction - which are technologies that do not/have yet to exist. I began to look at concept artists that produced designs around these ideas to build up my visual bank.

One article i read was about the Bungie Studio and the game they are working on called Destiny:

The article described the aesthetic feel of the game to be "mythic sci-fi", which i thought was quite an appropriate word to use when combining the concept of old world believes (such as magic and creatures) and the future such as (technology, advanced weapons) together.

I really like the combination of the cape, as it have the symbolic hero/knight look, at the same time combined with the space armor.

This game also take real life modern references :"Destiny's Awoken race blended imagery of ghosts, angels, vampires and elves, referencing Twilight's Edward Cullen and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow's Soma Cruz. For Destiny's Exo, Bungie turned to Appleseed, the Terminator and its own Master Chief to create a race of "sinister, powerful, tireless war machines."
Which is very similar to the universe of The Secret world.

I find the Bungie's Destiny concept art very inspiring, i like the cyber-punk feel to the aesthetic can relate to the game Secret world quite well as it also have the feel  of the old + the present + the future.
